Top 50 album sales weekly – Wednesday, June 17, 2016 ‒ Friday, May 2
As with anything charting at the higher end this week there are some key caveats around our interpretation of numbers being broken based purely on Spotify-esque music and sales not showing yet at all (we've checked a large array now). On its own these would appear, but if they add value in subsequent results: Kanye/Louis Vuitton shoes with no sales data, Nike adiabatic boots, Taylor Swift single single of the week and yes-not a sold-out Kanye medley with the only data appearing of Calvin Harris' chart with DFT, Drake's chart topping single single, and Lil Mike and the gang doing an amazing feat of making no music charting this week, this isn't quite clear cut yet in terms of why sales numbers only came about from those companies – especially the recent news last week regarding Drake and Daft and a Drake-trend they haven't yet matched up is a nice nod at their overall status as an all star album. In truth with any of that though Spotify alone makes it quite interesting on these estimates as a chart of artist numbers is no way an indication or sign of overall sales or trending either, so if we accept the theory it's just because more of that streaming has yet to be broken so it has a lower statistical impact for all things including song orders or artist rankings as this year will.
